Trauma + CPTSD Therapy (SE-Informed) in California

Decolonial, disability-justice–rooted somatic psychotherapy for CPTSD patterns: hypervigilance, shutdown, dissociation, panic, and bracing.

  • Trauma isn’t only what happened—it’s what your nervous system had to do to survive. You may be living with a body that doesn’t feel safe: scanning, bracing, shutting down, or disappearing right when you want connection.

Signs this might be you

  • chronic bracing, tension, jaw/neck/shoulder holding, “always on” vigilance

  • freeze/collapse, shutdown, numbness, or dissociation

  • panic, surges, intrusive fear, or emotional flooding

  • relational triggers, shame spirals, people-pleasing, or difficulty saying no

  • medical trauma or injury layered into the picture

How we work

  • My approach is Somatic Experiencing–informed, relational, and experiential.

  • We move slowly and precisely, tracking the nervous system in real time—so protective responses can soften without force. We build capacity through titration, resourcing, orienting, and learning what your system signals before it tips.

Next Steps

Dissociation + shutdown
Dissociation isn’t “resistance.” It’s often an intelligent survival strategy. We work respectfully with numbness, “blankness,” fog, and collapse—building safety and agency without pushing.

What tends to change

  • less bracing and reactivity; more steadiness

  • more choice in triggering moments

  • stronger boundaries without collapse/backlash

  • better sleep/energy regulation over time

  • more access to intimacy, joy, and grounded presence

Logistics
Sebastopol in-person + CA teletherapy. Fee $185/session. Primarily private pay; Optum only. Superbills when applicable.
